To become a commercial helicopter pilot, you must obtain a commercial pilot (helicopter) license (CPL (H)). This is the standard professional license. Afterwards, you can purchase the Air Transport (Helicopter) Pilot License (ATPL (H)). This is the highest license, necessary to pilot two-crew helicopters.

If you can get a well-paying job as a helicopter or airplane pilot, you'll easily make much more money than you spent on your education. Training to be a helicopter pilot is often more expensive than becoming an airplane pilot. If you want to accumulate time as a pilot in command of an airplane while studying at a Part 141 school, make sure you first obtain the single-engine single-engine private ground pilot certificate, ideally through Part 61 (fewer hours required). For example, an airplane needs a long runway to take off, while a helicopter can take off by lifting it up in a straight line.
It is essential that you understand the different doors and types of aeronautical experience that are required to obtain the Unrestricted Air Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP) or the Restricted Air Transport Pilot Certificate (R-ATP). The capabilities of an airplane are more limited than those of a helicopter and they won't be able to do all the things that make a helicopter so practical and useful.
