Unless you return your ticket by mail to the FAA, I think there is a reasonable solution for the OP. A commercial certificate includes the privileges of practicing private and light sports. Most training paragliders fall into the light sports category. The OP can fly with an instructor for training and with a second instructor, adding to its privileges the use of a light sports paraglider.
That could also be the part of a flight review. Now, the OP can fly the lightweight sports glider, when it's ready to fly alone, like PIC. When you're ready, you can do the pilot check for a commercial glider. Yes, they talk about it in power training, but it gets very serious when every flight requires assistance in the world of airplanes.
In most gliders, the control is located where an airplane's left throttle would be, and it works in a similar way. After years of flying airplanes, I was surprised to discover that, usually, when a glider is only 200 feet above the ground, a rope can be broken simply by turning 180 degrees and landing. In addition, towing a glider is one of the few types of flights that a private pilot can legally perform and in which another person pays for the cost of the plane. The FAA maintains a list of frequently asked questions for new pilots and the requirements for obtaining a pilot's license (glider pilot qualifications) are included in part 61 of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
Except as provided in paragraph (k) (of this section), a person may act as a pilot in command of an aircraft wearing night vision goggles only if that person receives and records flight training from an authorized instructor and obtains a logbook or training log supported by an authorized instructor who has determined that the person is proficient in the use of night vision goggles. Speaking to dozens of aircraft pilots who have earned glider pilot certificates, each of them has described how much they enjoyed, what many described as the purest flying experience for gliders. I) It only involves a shuttle flight, a training flight, a test flight or a practical test to obtain a pilot certificate or qualification;. With its long wings and significant adverse orientation of the spoiler, a glider requires that its pilot learn to use the rudder.
From my personal experience, learning to fly gliders was a lot of fun, having to do a review was no big deal. In addition, I enjoyed a much more social experience than that of airplanes: it takes a group of people to launch a glider. Ii) The person has received ground and flight training as part of an approved training program and has successfully completed a proficiency check according to § 135.293 of this chapter on a high-performance aircraft, or on a complete flight simulator or flight training device that is representative of a high-performance aircraft, which must be documented in the pilot's logbook or training log. The social aspect of flying a glider is a lot of fun.
Last weekend, my local group had about a dozen glider pilots operating from a remote rural airstrip, barbecuing at the cowboy bar across the road, and camping at a nearby hot spring resort. When the regulatory smoke clears, all that means is that, since a motor glider is considered a glider according to the FARs, you must have a glider qualification on your pilot certificate to fly you as a pilot in command and you don't need to have a doctor. A glider changed my view of the world and made me respect my flying skills as a powered plane has done until now. One such paragraph is FAR 61.113 (g), which allows a private pilot who meets the requirements of FAR 61.69 to act as a PIC for a tug plane towing a glider in exchange for compensation or rental.
